Gift Box Label Design
GE Vernova New Hire Kit Label Design Process
I had the opportunity to design a label for GE Vernova's New Hire Kit gift boxes, sent to all new employees. Here's a brief overview of the design process
Research and Inspiration
-
Brand Guidelines: I thoroughly reviewed GE Vernova’s brand guidelines to understand their visual identity and values.
-
Company Values: I focused on GE Vernova's commitment to sustainable energy, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Color Palette
-
Primary Green: Represents sustainability.
-
White: Provides a clean, professional look.
-
Urgent Green: Adds vibrancy and highlights key elements.
Graphic Elements
-
Wind Turbines: Symbolize renewable energy.
-
Electricity Icons: Represent the energy sector.
-
Atoms: Indicate science and technology.
-
Trees: Emphasize environmental stewardship.
These elements were connected by white lines, creating a sense of interconnectedness and unity. They were arranged around a prominent recycling logo encircling the GE Vernova logo, unifying the message of sustainability.
Introducing Urban Vitamin
We wanted to introduce Urban Vitamin to our customers, so I was assigned the task of creating a poster and designing social media slides.
I had the freedom to do everything myself and express my creativity, from selecting photos to designing and coming up with the text. For the poster, I aimed for a dreamy look, giving the photo a Gaussian blur for a halation effect. On top of that, I used scan overlays to give it a vintage look.
The cover features a woman enjoying her music (with the Urban Vitamin headphones on) against a backdrop of a clear blue sky. My choice for a dreamy look was inspired by the fact that the headphones produce clear sound, making you feel like you're floating and being carried away. I also chose to go for a vintage poster style reminiscent of the 1980s, using the Futura font to reinforce the vintage look.
Socials Design Process
For the social media posts, I chose the colors blue and off-white. Blue to maintain the dreamy vibe and off-white because it provided a nice contrast with the blue. I also aimed for a balance between busy and calm by designing a busy slide with Urban Vitamin text from top to bottom, followed by an intermediate slide with only text. The oval around Urban Vitamin makes it look like a pill (vitamin), emphasizing the idea of getting your daily dose of vitamins.
The Process Behind the Magazine Cover
The Process Behind the Magazine Cover
Our company was venturing into publishing our first magazine and needed an cover to set the tone. For this project, I aimed for a minimalist design that would be visually appealing without being too busy. I selected an image with blue and orange hues to create a striking contrast, ensuring the cover would catch the reader's eye. The magenta color was incorporated to match our logo, maintaining consistency with our brand's house style. This approach allowed us to blend simplicity with engaging aesthetics, creating a cohesive and captivating cover.
